Portfolio Sets

Portfolio Sets is an AI powered job application platform designed to help candidates prepare stronger applications faster. The product was built around a simple problem: every job has different requirements, yet candidates often reuse the same resume or spend significant time manually adapting it for each role. The current MVP brings the main application workflow into one place. Resume Builder helps users create a professional CV from structured information with optional AI assistance. Resume Roast reviews an existing resume and highlights meaningful weaknesses, unclear positioning, unsupported claims, and areas that could be improved. Resume Tailor compares a resume with a specific job description, identifies demonstrated, unclear, and missing requirements, and adapts relevant experience to the role. Cover Letter Generator then creates a personalized letter using the same candidate information and job context. A key product principle is factual AI assistance. Portfolio Sets is designed to improve how real experience is presented without intentionally inventing skills, employment history, achievements, metrics, or qualifications. Users can review and edit generated content before using or downloading it. I designed, developed, and deployed the platform using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, OpenAI, and Vercel. The product includes authentication, structured AI responses, resume PDF generation, browser based draft persistence, responsive interfaces, and privacy focused handling of resume and job description data. The first working MVP is now live and entering user validation. The current focus is measuring how people use the tools, which workflows provide the most value, and whether users return after their first interaction. Long term, Portfolio Sets aims to connect job discovery, fit analysis, tailored application materials, and assisted applications into one streamlined workflow.

What Was Built

• Designed, developed, and deployed a complete SaaS MVP from initial product concept through public release.
• Built four connected application tools: Resume Builder, Resume Roast, Resume Tailor, and Cover Letter Generator.
• Integrated OpenAI powered analysis and generation with safeguards against fabricated experience, skills, achievements, and metrics.
• Built structured resume editing and PDF generation shared between Resume Builder and Resume Tailor.
• Created a reusable AI architecture supporting structured model responses and multiple product workflows.
• Designed the complete responsive product interface and marketing website using a consistent custom design system.
